INVITATION TO BIDDERS

Sealed bids are requested by the San Antonio Water System for the construction of the Dos Rios Water Recycling Center (WRC) Sludge Blend and Thickening Complex Automation Project, SAWS Job No. 13-6504. The project includes, but is not limited to, labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required for the addition of variable frequency drives on the StrainPress feed pumps at the Sludge Blend Complex, automation of the StrainPress feed pumps, addition of modulating motor operated valves on the influent of each Gravity Belt Thickener, and other control system upgrades and miscellaneous work as required per the Contract Documents.

Answers to the questions will be posted to the website by 4:00 PM (CT) on December 16, 2013 as a separate document or included as part of an addendum.

A mandatory Pre-bid Meeting will be held at 10:00 AM (CT) on December 9, 2013 at the San Antonio Water System’s Dos Rios Water Recycling Center, 3495 Valley Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78221. Immediately following the Pre-bid Meeting, a mandatory site visit will be conducted.

An additional, non-mandatory, site visit is being offered at 10:00 AM (CT) on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Dos Rios Water Recycling Center. Report to the O&M Building for check-in.

Sealed bids will be received by the Contract Administration Division, 2800 U.S. Hwy 281 North, Customer Center Building, Suite 171, San Antonio, Texas 78212, until 2:00 PM (CT) on January 08, 2013. Bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud in Contract Administration, Suite 169, Customer Center Building, 2800 U.S. Hwy 281 North, San Antonio, Texas. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the total bid price.
