The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is pursuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the assistance of a qualified actuarial firm (Consultant) to conduct a comprehensive actuarial analysis of SAWS’ self-insured workers’ compensation and liability programs. The comprehensive actuarial analysis includes an estimate of the unpaid loss and allocated loss adjustment expense (ALAE) for known claims, and claims which have occurred but have not yet been reported (incurred but not reported or IBNR). SAWS plans for these contracted services to be for the years 2023, 2024 and 2025.
SAWS currently has a contract with Sigma Risk Management Consulting, LLC for actuarial services; however this contract will be expiring December 31, 2022. SAWS has had the actuarial services with Sigma Risk Management Consulting, LLC for approximately the last 5 years and about 10 years of data for this program is available. The program data will be available in Microsoft Excel format to the awarded firm. Data from the actual actuarial reports is unavailable.
