SAWS E-54 Sewer Project

Please join us for an informational meeting to discuss an upcoming sewer project, the E-54 Project for Pipeline and Facility Contractors. The scope includes, but is not limited to: Rock Trenching, Tunneling, Paving, Concrete, Excavation, Electrical/Instrumentation, Fencing, and Support Services Subcontractors. The project is being implemented via two (2) separate construction solicitations: 1) E-54 Sewer Main Project, and 2) E-54 Regional Lift Station Project. The construction contracts associated with these projects will be procured through the Request for Competitive Sealed Proposal (RFCSP) method and are scheduled to be advertised in April 2022 and awarded in July of 2022.

WebEx sign-in will begin at 2:00 pm (CST), with the formal presentation starting at 2:30 pm (CST). The presentation will provide important information about the projects and will include instructions for attendees who wish to participate in a self-guided site visit. E-54 Sewer Main Project

The work under this solicitation will include the installation of approximately 6 miles of 18 to 30-inch gravity sewer pipe and force mains in limestone rock via open-cut trenching, tunneling, and jack and bore installation methods. The project is located in the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone on the North side of San Antonio, near Bulverde Road between Loop 1604 and Evans Road.

The construction scope of this project includes:

·         16,000 LF of 30-inch FRP gravity sewer main and tee-base manholes at depths up to 25 feet installed mostly via open-cut trenching and includes 230 LF of two-pass tunneling.

·         2,574 LF of 20-inch dual force mains (total 5,148 LF) installed mostly via open-cut and includes 1,001 LF of jack and bore trenchless crossings.

·         7,301 LF of 24, 21, and 18-inch gravity sewer main and FRP manholes at depths up to 40 feet installed mostly via open-cut trenching and includes 1,964 LF of two-pass tunneling and 444 LF of jack and bore trenchless crossings.

·         Pipe installation in limestone rock, a summary of the geotechnical data will be presented at this outreach event.

·         Downstream tie-in to the SAWS E-4 project near Loop 1604 and upstream tie-ins near the existing SAWS Fossil Ridge, Fox Grove, and Fischer Tract lift stations.

·         TCEQ SCS Plan compliance and a potential for Edward Aquifer sensitive feature mitigation.

E-54 Regional Lift Station Project

The work under this solicitation will include the construction of a new 6.6. million gallons per day lift station. The work will also include decommissioning of three (3) existing lift stations nearby, specifically Fossil Ridge, Fischer, and Fox Grove Lift Stations. The facility is located within the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone on the North side of San Antonio, near Bulverde Road between Loop 1604 and Evans Road. The new lift station is in the Fox Grove subdivision and will be located north of the existing Fox Grove Lift Station.

The construction scope of this project includes:

·         Construction of a new 6.6 MGD lift station

·         Installation of four (2.2) MGD each submersible non-clog pumps

·         Concrete wet well

·         New Electrical Building and backup generator.

·         New communications tower.

·         Tie-in to the E-54 Sewer Main Project

·         Decommissioning of three (3) existing lift stations, Fossil Ridge, Fox Grove, and Fischer Tract.

·         TCEQ Sewage Collection System Plan compliance and a potential for Edwards Aquifer sensitive feature mitigation.
