INVITATION TO BIDDERS

Sealed bids are requested by the San Antonio Water System for the construction of approximately 275,000 square yards of street maintenance work and all related appurtenances for the Annual 2012 Asphalt Overlay Work Order Construction Contract Project, SAWS Job No. 12-0101.  All work is unspecified at the time of bidding. The contractor shall be willing to operate at various locations around the city, concurrently at times, throughout the contract period on a work order and/or on-call basis. The Contractor shall have the work force capacity to complete 100 mill and overlay work orders or more per month if such work orders are made available to the Contractor.

Answers to the questions will be posted to the web site by 5:00 PM (CST) on January 31, 2012 as a separate document or included as part of an addendum.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 A.M. on January 27, 2012 at the San Antonio Water System’s Customer Service Building, 1st floor, Conference Room 137, 2800 U.S. Hwy 281 North, San Antonio, Texas. Please be advised that under no circumstances shall any late or nonattendee(s) to the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting be allowed to submit a bid for the project.

Sealed bids will be received by the Contract Administration Division, 2800 U.S. Hwy 281 North, Customer Center Building, Suite 171, San Antonio, Texas 78212, until 10:30 A.M., February 6, 2012. Bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud in Contract Administration, Suite 169, Customer Center Building, 2800 U.S. Hwy 281 North, San Antonio, Texas. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the total bid price.
