San Antonio Water System

The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is pursuing professional consulting services and accepting statements of qualifications (SOQs) from qualified consultants or consulting firms for the design of the Dos Rios WRC, Leon Creek WRC and Medio Creek WRC Tertiary Filter Expansion project. The selected consultant or consulting firm will provide preliminary engineering phase services for the expansion of the tertiary filtration process and associated facilities at the Dos Rios WRC, Leon Creek WRC and Medio Creek WRC.

SAWS plans to expand the tertiary filtration facilities at each plant for redundancy and/or in response to peak demand. The goal of the project is to provide additional filters (same or different technology) to meet filtration requirements for an additional 36 mgd AADF (72 mgd P2HF) or more at the Dos Rios WRC, an additional 12 mgd AADF (24 mgd P2HF) or more at the Leon Creek WRC, and to rehabilitate/retrofit the existing sand filters at the Medio Creek WRC, as will be determined during the evaluation.
