Acequia Lift Station 30-inch Force Main Project
Construction Elements:
- Installation of a new 36” HDPE force main running parallel to the exsisting 30” ductile iron force main. The alignment runs from the Acequia lift station and connects to an existing force main near the San Antonio River.
- Replacement of the existing 30” ductile iron force main with a new 36” HDPE force main.
- The two new 36” parallel forcemains total appoximately 1,600 LF by open cut method.
- Plug valves for the new force mains and valve replacements within the lift station will be procured by SAWS and installed by the contractor.
- Rehab of the 42” gravity sewer main section that leads into the lift station by CIPP.
- Project is located within a SAWS easement on San Antonio River Authority property. The property is also within National Parks Jurisdiction.
When Will Work Occur?
Project construction is scheduled to begin in the 2nd quarter of 2023 and has an estimated duration of 11 months.
What to Expect:
- Traffic impact will be limited to Riverfront Parkway which has Low traffic volume.
- The estimated construction cost is $2.1 million.
- Limited bypass pumping will be required.
