Seasonal starA true star of Texas horticulture, mealy cup sage (Salvia farinacea) is native to plains, prairies and woodland edges of south-central Texas. It blooms on and off all summer long and is on full display in spring, with trademark wands of bluish-purple flowers lending magic to many a WaterSaver garden. Fun fact: The botanical name is a Latin reference to flour for the "dusting" of white trichomes on the flowers and stems. |
